where's your green?



It is our belief here at CBC that according to 1 Peter 4:10, every person has a specific assignment or calling that was placed in and on them for this world by God and it is our mission to help you find it.  When we ask, "where's your green?", we are talking about a place where three circles overlap.



The three circles are:
  • Passion - Passion is something that you love doing and would do it for free.  You don't have to be motivated to do it, it is simply something you enjoy doing.
  • Talent - Talent is something that you are good at.  This is either a learned craft or something that comes natural to you that is obvious to others that you have a talent in that area.  God is not going to call us to do something without excellence in that area.  We will need a combination of education, practice, and effort in order for our "Talent" to be used to its full potential by God.  
  • Need - Need is simply where there is a need for your talent in the world.  There is a legitimate need in the world somewhere for the thing that you do well.  Our job is not to seek after the need but rather to seek God and He will bring us to the need or the need to us.

The place where these three circle intersect is what we call your "green" or calling.  "Green" stands for "Go" and when you find your "green" you need to "Go" and do the things God has called you to do.  He needs your effort combined with His gifts.
